System Administration

KIS offers a variety of on-site Systems Administration support Contracts ranging from several hours a month to 40 hours a week depending on you requirements.

As System Administrator, KIS Computer Center will:

  • Set up new users including Login Restrictions, Passwords, Security, Applications
  • Set up and Change Security for users and Applications
  • Install New Software on File Server and User’s Workstations
  • Determine Logical Directory Structure, Implement, MAP, and Detail
  • Provide training to Assistant System Administrator
  • Set up and maintain groups (accounting, Admin, Printers, Sales, Warehouse, etc)
  • Install and Test new PC’s, printers and modems
  • Maintain integrity of Back-ups and restores
  • Alert office manager to dangerous conditions
  • Watch for unusual activity among users
  • Educate and correct user errors (deleted files, corrupted files, etc.)
  • Coordinate all hardware failures to KIS service department (or third party if needed)
  • Coordinate all LAN upgrades with all involved parties
  • Coordinate with outside offices, Corporate MIS, third party vendors
  • Clean and Prune directory structure, keep efficient and active
  • Monthly meetings with designated personnel for any changes and status updates
  • Quarterly meetings with Sales and System Administrator to present any proposals necessary
  • Monthly reports of work accomplished, work in progress, etc.
